April 28 2014 Chase *bust*

A slight chance of severe weather was forecasted for parts of eastern missouri, southern and central illinois and into most of southeastern iowa. We waited till early afternoon to begin chasing with our goal set between Peoria and Galesburg, hoping an isolated cell would form ahead of a weak line of storms and ride the warm front north. With conditions not the best and clouds overtaking what should have been some nice daytime warming most of the potential busted.

So, Rich Dave and Erik went south instead of waiting for the slow moving line in hopes the cell we had wished for outside of Peoria but she never developed enough to keep our attention as we sat outside of the northbound storm. We spent about an hour waiting near the cell then for about another hour or so in Princeton Illinois before abandoning the chase due to other commitments in the evening.

Various reports included small hail and a shelf cloud from the line, and the tornado watch that was issued was cancelled very early as well.
