Erik heads out with a good chance for severe weather to Sycamore where he gets hail and then onto Rochelle ahead of a severe line of storms.

A lone severe thunderstorm moves thru north central Illinois. The storm which develops mid level rotation at the beginning eventually dropped golf ball and bigger hail to the greater Rockford IL area. Erik and Rich visit their friend Karl whos vehicles suffered some decent hail dents from the storm

Rich and Erik get a shot at a Tornado Warned cell in Boone Co IL, only one problem, its gonna get close to Rich's house. Staying at the house wasnt a bad idea as the wallcloud comes witin just a mile or less from the home to the northwest. A tornado later forms minutes later but decide not to pursue due to lack of visibility.

A small rain event drops some surprise wind speeds across McHenry co and Lake Co IL. After being alerted by a fellow chaser and friend about receiving 45mph winds from the shower, Erik heads out in Gurnee IL and while he isnt able to stay long out with the portable anemometer, a nearby station reports a 34mph gust.

First storm of the day affects Boone and McHenry counties. Rich first documents the storm from his house as quarter size hail falls. Erik then moves into rural parts of McHenry co where he gets some strong winds and up to nickle size hail.

A tornado warned storm forms in Winnebago Co and moves into Boone. Rich gets video/photos of it as it approaches Belvidere. Erik sits in western parts of McHenry co as the tornado warned storm approaches.

Rich starts while tracking a tornado warned storm in Boone County, the derecho gives off a nice evening shelf cloud. Erik heads south to Genoa IL for the rest of the storms. He watches a few nice lightning displays as the storms move on thru.

After deciding to not head south for the eclipse, Rich and Erik get a front row seat to an impressive gust front near Hudson IL (north of the Bloomington Normal area) some stronger winds showed but very little of rain or lightning
