SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS

BOONE CO / MCHENRY CO / KANE CO IL

 

A group of severe thunderstorms move their way from Winnebago / Boone Counties in IL into McHenry and Kane Counties. We follow the storms from south of Marengo to rural Kane County before the system weakened due to a lake breeze coming off of Lake Michigan.

 

 

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM CDT
FOR NORTHEASTERN DEKALB...NORTHERN KANE...SOUTHEASTERN BOONE AND
SOUTHERN MCHENRY COUNTIES...

AT 612 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO
INDICATE A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE
HAIL...AND DESTRUCTIVE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH.  THIS STORM WAS
LOCATED 8 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MARENGO...MOVING EAST AT 40 MPH.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL BE NEAR...
  MARENGO BY 620 PM...
  UNION BY 625 PM...
  HUNTLEY BY 635 PM...
  LAKEWOOD...AND CRYSTAL LAKE BY 640 PM...
  LAKE IN THE HILLS...ALGONQUIN...AND CARPENTERSVILLE BY 645 PM...
  CARY...AND OAKWOOD HILLS BY 650 PM...
