Mission Statement

Our goal is to document weather events in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

History

We began on February 15, 2001, back then it was a private weather site known as the Marengo Weather Tracker. When
we began to stormchase in the 2003 season, we focused our goals to developing a new name that would allow us to broaden
our range, Transit Weather was born. We are a group of friends with a common interest... weather,
from spotting to chasing we hope to continue to provide photography and reports to back up weather events in the region.

Coverage Area

In general terms we chase with a square from Madision, WI to Milwaukee, WI to Chicago, IL
to Rockford, IL. Although this is our home range, we have ventured outside those boundaries on many occasions.
